He is indeed a serious A@&%e as is all his local “southern gang” friends he walks around town with….except for “Kirk Windstein” from Phil’s band “Down”. My Mother sells shrimp about a few blocks away from Phil’s house…everytime both he and Phil show up to buy shrimp Phil always gives me a look like he wants to take me on in a fight. One summer night i was sitting on the northwest corner of Bleecker and MacDougall when I spotted Lemmy standing on the south east corner facing east but obviously lost. I quickly want over and asked him where he was looking for. He said he was headed to a bar on St Marks Place, i walked with him and we chatted about music. I told him Dead Kennedys and Crass and Conflict were my thing but i always liked Motorhead etcetc.He asked me to go for a drink or ten but i decIined as i was in early recovery !!! I had a big wad of $20 bills and asked him to sign one for me, he said keep your money and he took a dollar from his pocket and signed it for me.. Decent fella and very iconic rocker ... RIP

I use to see them play as Republic back around 83’-84’ish in backyard parties in The Southeast of Los Angeles or Northwest of Orange County. La Habra/Whittier area. Then Eugene’s in Pico Rivera as Guttermouth. Been a fan for quite some time now but haven’t listen to anything since Covered With Ants album around 2000’…. Tried to listen to something after that but it didn’t hook me like the older stuff. Not knocking their later stuff, I just didn’t really give it a chance.
